Asterisk : Open Source telephony at large
The Problem: A customer wanted a flexible system to allow voice
applications under network and other software control. This actually started
as a request to build an automated voice attendant with call-originate
functionality.

Asterisk documentation pages shortcuts
Asterisk is a large, complex and changing system. This is reflected in
the documentation. While there are lots of pages on a few fairly
comprehensive sites, the documentation is still growing to cover the
many features afforded by the software. You will see lots of "...I found
this by digging through the software, and it's still not complete.." kinds
of notices on Asterisk doc and wiki pages. Caveat emptor (and, as always,
Use The Source...).
Here is a set of shortcuts to some very useful pages on various setups,
techniquess, and subsystems in Asterisk. Enjoy.
